UPDATE: My Nashville lifestyle

I have been here for two months but it still feels like I just arrived. Last time we talked about me I had just finished working CMA Fest. That was just the first of my many accomplishments and adventures this summer.

At the end of the summer I plan to do a post about all of the wisdom and advice Kaylin taught me this summer, for now, I am just going to give a brief overview of what I have been up to, along with some pictures to keep you interested.

All summer I have been working at the digital desk, writing content for online. Mostly crime stories, guides/lists, and previewing new things coming to Nashville or events happening. I have written more articles than I can count, and you are welcome to go to FOX17.com to go and read them all, but I have linked some of my more interesting ones below for you to skim through if you care.

Two weeks ago Kaylin left for a vacation and left me in charge of the morning Instagram posts, Instagram story and engaging tweets for the week. I had a lot of fun. I learned that what might get me a lot of like on my personal account doesn't really do well on a news stations account. That is very important information.

When she got back we switched to working night shifts instead of day shifts because of temporary staffing shortages. Since working the night shift I have never been more tired in my life. I tend to nanny in the mornings then go straight to work until 10 p.m. or later which is seriously draining my energy. Good thing I love what I am doing or I would go insane.

Last night I worked on the 4th of July because I really had nothing better to do due to my lack of friends here...lol. To me I find joy in going to the station and learning new things. It is making me more and more excited/anxious about my future each day that passes. I have already started applying for internships next summer and I am praying that I get lucky again by being blessed with another experience like this except maybe with a little bit more of a focus on entertainment news ;).

I still enjoy the 2:30 a.m. shift on Mondays because I get to go out on the field with a reporter and see the city. That is when I have taken most of my pictures that I post on the Instagram for FOX17. As well as many of the photos below.

Now, with only five weeks left in Music City I am kind of regretting not going out and doing more to experience what it has to offer during my free time, but I am going to try and maximize the time I have left here to see as much as I can. I definitely plan to come back for visits next semester, it is only four hours away from Oxford.
