Oscars Red Carpet 2017

I have mentioned a time or two that I am not the biggest fan of movies, but that doesn't mean I didn't tune into tonight's Oscar's Red Carpet. It is no secret that ivory and black are both very prominent colors this fashion season, don’t forget all the sheer and glitzy gold detailing that also appear to be very in. I definitely got an old Hollywood vibe, starting with Emma Robert's vintage Armani Privé paired with her big red curls. I am constantly amazed how designers that can design such beautiful gowns return the next year with a design that is so repulsive it distracts me from the words coming out of the celebrities mouth. Fashion wouldn’t be fashion without risks, so I do my best to forgive and forget in order to keep an open mind for next year's red carpet for them to (hopefully) redeem themselves. Here are who my Fashion Oscars go to this year

Emma Roberts(left) (like I mentioned earlier) looks incredible in Vintage Armani Privé, but it all looks too similar to Michelle Williams'(right) Louis Vuitton halter gown. Emma's tiered ivory bottom and black top (which stayed covering just enough) is all embellished, reflecting her charming personality. While Michelle's almost identical gown is far more simple.

Who Knows if these lovely ladies wore velvet in attempt to stay warm, or for the dramatic impression they both made on the red carpet tonight. Taraji P. Henson (left) is striking, my eyes were immediately drawn to the gorgeous diamonds around her neck. Her hair is effortlessly tossed and the small slit up the front of the navy dress completes the entire look. Then Brie Larson (right) showed up in an Oscar De La Renta dress that also happened to be velvet. This gown's structure creates shapes that are very...interesting. The neck line draws a lot of attention to her hair, which I don't think was nearly as breath taking as Taraji's bob.

They may be in the same color but their dresses could not be more different. Olivia Culpo (left) looks so classy in Marchesa. The dress definitely has enough going on so she kept the make up simple with only a pop of color on her eyelids with the lavender eyeshadow. Just when I though it couldn't get any better I noticed the black satin ribbon around her waistline. Gorg!!! I cannot find one good thing to say about Teresa Palmer's (right) look. The belt makes her look fat and her hair (which you can't see in the picture) looked like a long tangly frizz ball. At least her face looked pretty... if only her beauty was enough to distract from the horrible gown.

I don't know if I am more disappointed in Dakota Johnson (left) or Gucci... or her hair stylist for not showing up to do her hair. She looks like she belongs in England during the 1800's... or really she belongs anywhere other than the Oscar Red Carpet if she thinks it is okay to show up in that catastrophe. Dakota didn't make this a hard choice between her and Leslie Mann (right). Leslie looked like a princess in her Zac Posen strapless gown. She is certainly not best dressed but when standing next to Dakota, unless you are Blanca Blanco it is impossible to look bad.

**WORST DRESSED**

Blanca Blanco needs a ride back to the circus if any one can take her!

HAHAHAHAHA TAKE THIS BACK TO LIBBY LOU. There are probably some really disappointed girls right now because Sofia Boutella stole the dress up clothes from their birthday party. I am just as disappointed as everyone else that this dress in Chanel...

Ryan Gosling
